GROUP WOMEN VIGIL:   FRIDAY, 6TH  JANUARY 2017.FOCUS: BRINGING   GOD’S MARVELOUS HELP TO THE.  HOME THROUGH MY ROLE AS A HELP  MEET Text: Genesis 2:21-22; 1:28

Introduction:

Marriage is God’s will for man. The first man He created, He provided a wife for him and blessed his marriage. (Gen 2:21-22, Gen 1:28.)Satan hates marriage. He brought marital crisis that made the couples to start trading blames for causes of their failure in obeying God’s command. From then till now, divorce and promiscuity are reoccurring events in which the devil is both the originator and initiator. Jesus emphasized in His teaching that it was not so from the beginning.DiscussionConsider the following posers and discuss the implications of your role as a spouse in it and what part you have to play to make marriage work.1.God is the Originator, Principal and ViceChancellor of the Marriage Institution.2.Marriage is the only School where you collect the certificate before you start.3.Marriage is the only non-graduating School ever established.4.Marriage is a School where you are not allowed to drop out, and the Principal does not expel you from School.5.It is a School that has no break, leave or holidays. You have to attend it every day of your life. Never go to sleep without completing your assignment for the day.6.It is a School where you have to communicate regularly with your classmate (spouse) and the Principal.7.Sometimes you will not feel like attending classes, yet you have to.8.Love is the Major Subject of this School, and Bible is it’s only Textbook. Now discuss the following issues in your role as helpmeet.1.Discuss your ‘helpmeet’ role as a wife in the light of the following phrases.–   Assistance and supporter–   Encourager and motivator–   Home manager and keeper (Titus 5:14)1.Do you therefore see marriage as a ‘School’ of God where women are madeto be formed into the likeness of the Bride of Christ ‘without spot or wrinkle’?2.What are those things you, as a wife, wish that your husband should know better about you in order to make your marriage wonderful?
Let us pray
1.God, I thank You for my family, I know You will continue to take control.
2.My Father, remove every hand of evil in my home, in the name of Jesus.
3.God, restore Your joy back into my home, in Jesus’ name.
4.God, let those who stay in darkness and throw arrow into my home; fall and die, in the name of Jesus.
5.I call the blood of Jesus to flow in my home, in the name of Jesus.
6.God, I need Your peace in my home, in the name of Jesus.
7.God, as from today, no one shall take my responsibility, no one shall take the responsibility of my husband, in the name of Jesus.
8.By the power in the blood of Jesus, the peace of God shall flow in my home.
9.O Lord, empower my family altar by fire and soak me in the spirit of prayer.
10.O Lord, let not our angels of blessingsdepart without fulfilling the purpose for which they are sent to my home.
11.I neutralize all problems originating from the mistakes of my parents and that of my spouse, in the name of Jesus.
12.Lord, bring honey out of the rock for me (Deut. 32:13)
13.Let all fifth columnists and agents of darkness sent against my home receive arrows of fire now in Jesus Name.
14.Father cause the love and understanding between my spouse and I continue to increase unto the perfect day.
15.Our children shall be taught of the Lord and they shall be olive plants round our table, and they shall speak with the enemies at the gate (Psalm 127:5, 128:3)
16.Let the blessing of fruitfulness pronounced by God in Eden be fulfilled on all our homes. We reject any form of barrenness whatsoever among us.

DAY 4:  THURSDAY, 5TH JANUARY 2017

FOCUS: GREAT GRACE TO GROW UPWARD IN LIFE.

TEXTS: COL. 2: 6-9, 2 PETER 3:13, ACTS 4:33

INSIGHT FOR EFFECTIVE AND FERVENT PRAYERS

We need great grace to go forward and grow upward in life. Growing upward in life will make your life to be right and bright. It will make your life blissful, useful, fruitful, inspiring and highly profitable. You cannot grow upward if you don’t grow downward. Unless you are rightly and deeply rooted in Christ, you cannot grow to be Christ like.

Growing upward simply means becoming Christ in likeness. If you don’t grow spiritually, your life cannot glow and be fruitful. It has been said, “Growth is evidence of life. Life is equal to growth. When there is life, there’s growth. Where there is growth, there is life.’’ This is certainly true in the spiritual realm. Growing up in Christ is spiritual growth. God intends that the spiritual life He gives to us in Christ, grow into maturity. But many people spend years in the Lord without growing spiritually. There are so many babes or infants in the kingdom of God. This is tragic because every one that fails to grow up in Christ cannot enjoy all the spiritual blessings and benefits the Lord has for the matured in Christ. This is why you must grow upward in life.

Growing upward in life is a privilege, it is an obligation and responsibility for us. The overall goal of growing upward is to become more like Jesus Christ. The great question is, to what extent are you like Christ or to what extent are you unlike Christ? Growing upward implies spiritual progress. It entails being filled with the fruit of righteousness (Phil.1:11). It is standing perfect and complete in all the will of God (Col. 4:12)

It is bearing the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) , It is adding Christian grace to our faith (2 Peter 1:5-8) It is being rooted and built up in Christ. The Root gives Stability to the tree. The life of a tree depends upon the rootedness: uproot it and you destroy it., so we die, if not rooted in Christ.

Growing upward start from being rooted in Christ. Our faithfulness, strength and purity depend on our depth in Christ. The deeply rooted we are, the better we grow up in Him.

To grow up, you need a perfect heart (blameless heart) not a perverse or twisted heart, or a proud heart (Ps. 101:2,4)To be ‘perfect’ before the Lord does not mean to be sinless. It means to be sincere and without pretence. John called it walking in the light (1Jhn. 5:10.) It takes a circumcised heart to grow up. A hard-hearted inhibits growth. An uncircumcised heart is a fountain of ungodliness. “And with ungodliness in life, you cannot grow up to Christlikeness. To grow upward is to love God with all your heart, and with all your understanding, and with the soul and with all the strength, and to love your neighbour as thyself (Mark 12:33). And this can only be possible with a circumcised heart. “And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of the seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. That thou mayest live

(Deut.30:6). What is the state of your heart?.The conditions of your heart determines how far you can grow, glow and go in life. The state of your heart determines the stability of your life. You have to work upon your heart if you want to grow upward. Your heart is the seat of spiritual growth. You can only upward in life, if your heart is Right with God. Hear what the word of God says. “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the cause of your life’’ Prov. 4:23, NLT. And according to New Century Version, “Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life’’. So it is clear that to grow upward in life, the state of your heart is very important. (Psalm 95:10).Work on your heart and your life will keep growing upward.

LET US PRAY

O Lord, I want to grow upward in life, help me.O Lord, empower me with Your great grace to grow upward in life.O Lord, cause my life to be ever right and bright.O Lord, help me to become more like You in everything.Heavenly Father, deliver me from spiritual forces that make growing upward in life difficult.Lord, circumcise my heart so that my heart will not ruin my life and destiny.Father, help my life to be filled with the fruit of righteousness.O Lord, help me to stand perfect and complete in all Your will.O Lord, let my life bear the fruit of the Spirit.Read 1Peter 1:5-8, O Lord, help me to add Christian grace to my faith, so that my life will never be barren or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.O Lord, let Your great grace cause my whole life to go upward and forward in life.

The Gospel Faith Mission Int. Victory month. DAY 3: WEDNESDAY, 4TH JANUARY 2017 FOCUS: OBTAINING THE HELP OF GOD FOR YOUR LIFE JOURNEY TEXTS: Jer. 31: 2, Acts 26: 22 INSIGHT FOR EFFECTIVE AND FERVENT PRAYERS

The journey of life is a great one. It is a great
race that is full of risks. It is a race of destiny.
It is full of manifold challenges and unending
warfare of different kinds. It is an earthly
journey that ushers one into eternity; either in
hell or heaven. That makes it either a great or
a terrible journey.
Marvelous help is available and
obtainable for every soul. Anyone who is
marvelously helped will become very
successful, impactful, powerful and useful. He
can never become a generation of tail. Divine
help makes anyone a generation of head.
Truly, one needs the help of God in this world
of manifold evils and challenges. Anyone can
become a living wonder in any age, if he is
marvelously helped. And anyone too, can
become a living reproach and a living
wanderer in any age if he does not enjoy
marvelous help. Concerning king Asa, the Bible
writes, “His name spread far and wide, for the
Lord gave him marvelous help and he became
very powerful (2 Chro. 26:15, NLT). The Living
Letters Version put it this way, “so he became
very famous, for the Lord helped him
wonderfully till he was powerful (TAY). God can
also help you wonderfully, till you will become
very powerful too.
So, in the journey of life, your life ends where
help ends. Apostle Paul writes, “Having
therefore obtained the help of God, I continue
unto this day, witnessing unto small and
great’’ (Acts 26:22) The Knox version puts it this
way “But thanks to God’s help, I still stand here
today, bearing my witness’’ It was the help of
God that made Apostle Paul to stand thick, tall,
magnetic and weighty all through. Sincerely,
he obtained the help of God that was timely,
adequate and total. Similarly, every person on
the journey of life needs the help of God that
is adequately and timely. And failures to enjoy
this kind of divine help; makes one vulnerable
and defenseless. You will lack the necessary
push. Your speed in life will be hampered.
Your progress will be arrested and impaired.
You will fail easily and fall badly. You may die
cheaply and prematurely. You may even
experience the sunset of your destiny.
Beloved, you need help. You can never out
grow help. You need people in your life
journey. There are people that need you also
in their life journey. You are created to need
and give help. You cannot travel the journey of
life alone. You will always need people and
God at every stage of your life. Yes, you need
marvelous helpers in your life journey. These
are useful, helpful, trustworthy, and
dependable people. They are destiny boosters,
promoters and defenders. They are the people
that are very crucial to your destiny. They may
be ordinary people planted on your path way
by God to render unusual and uncommon
help. They are capable, committed, concerned
covenants helpers. They are people that will
inspire and increase you. They are the people
that encourage you and stir you up positively.
They are the people that help to release the
giant in you or restrain you from doing wrong.
They are the people that provoke you to face
life challenges boldly. Truly, in your life
journey, you will always need this divine
helper. The ever present Helper is the only
ONE that can always be with you 24/7. He is
able and available helper. He is a loving
helper; powerful helper, oh what a precious
helper; providing perpetual helper. He is the
only one that can give you adequate and
timely help in your life journey!
LET US PRAY
1. Almighty God, help me to obtain and enjoy
Your help all through my life’s journey here
on earth.
2. O Lord, cause me to enjoy Your timely and
adequate help in every challenge that
comes across my way in the journey of life.
3. O Lord, make me to be very successful,
impactful, powerful and useful through
Your marvelous help.
4. O Lord, make me a generation of head and
living wonder by Your divine help and
intervention in my life.
5. Mighty and merciful God, help me to
become very powerful and unbeatable in
the race of destiny.
6. O Lord, in my life journey, cause me to
experience Your help that will make me to
stand very thick, tall, weighty, wanted and
magnetic against all odds!
7. O Lord, help me never to become helpless
and defenseless in the days of trouble. Be
thou my strength and power.
8. O Lord, don’t allow me to travel alone in
the journey of life, surround me with the
right and real people, helpful and
dependable.
9. O Lord, surround me with capable,
committed, concerned, and connected
helpers.
10. O Lord, by Your divine arrangement, plant
people that will inspire and encourage me
along my pathway in life.
11. O Lord, cause me to meet the right people
that will help to awake the giant in me and
also restrain me from going the wrong way
or doing wrong.
12. O Lord, help me to enjoy Your help every
day of my life.

DAY 2: TUESDAY, 3RD JANUARY 2017
FOCUS: MERCY AND GRACE FOR 2017 AND BEYOND
TEXTS: Gen. 27, 1 Kings 3:6 Ps 3:7

INSIGHT FOR EFFECTIVE AND FERVENT PRAYERS

You need mercy and grace for all your endeavours in 2017 and beyond. Without grace and mercy; one would be a great loser in the race and battles of life. Any life that is destitute of mercy and grace will be grounded, formless, deprived of the good things of life, vandalized and deformed. Truly, any life that is devoid of mercy and grace will live in constant disgrace, defeat and sorrow!
Without gainsaying, we need grace and mercy for the New Year. According to Warren Wiersbe “God’s grace gives us what we do not deserve while God’s mercy doesn’t give us judgment that we deserved”. Grace will give us all those good things that we do not deserve. Similarly, mercy will not allow God to deal with us as we deserve in 2017.
Grace is God’s unmerited and undeserved favour. “It is receiving everything for nothing, when we deserve nothing “It is divine strength and support in weakness. And more importantly, “Grace is God’s willingness to use His power on our behalf even though we do not deserve it’’. And God will surely use His power on our behalf in various dimensions this year and beyond.
Mercy is the kindness in excess of what may be expected or demanded by fairness. A deposition to forgive; forbearance and compassion. Mercy is divine compassion. That compassion which causes God to help the weak, the sick or the poor or needy. Mercy is Divine pardon. It means compassion; pardon or forgiveness and showing of favour. Mercy is also divine kindness.
Beloved, no Church or individual or family can be strong and be constantly victorious without the Grace and mercy of God. Mercy causes God to overlook that punishment that one is entitled to because of sin. Grace causes God to give to one, those things one is not entitled to. God’s mercy is wonderful. There are two aspects of God’s mercy that makes it a destiny maker and builder. Withholding punishments that we deserve, keeps us from ‘hell’ and helping those who are miserable due to circumstances beyond their control. An example of this is seen in those miracles of Jesus. He healed the blind men (Matt. 9:27-31, 20: 29 – 34) He healed lepers (Luke 17:11-19) He healed a daughter of Abraham (Luke 13: 11-16). Those acts of healing grew out of His attitude of compassion and mercy. The recipients did not deserve what they received.
Beloved, this year’s mercy shall be extended to you. His mercy will not be withdrawn or withheld from you, your family and your work (Ezra 7: 28). The Lord will show you great mercy this year (1Kings 3:6). This year, you will achieve great things and affect your generation not by your merit but by His mercy. There is no limit to where the mercy of God can carry you. This is why you must cry for God’s mercy this year (Ps. 4:1,6, 9:13, 27:7, 30:10, 31:9).
When the grace and mercy of God are at work in a life, family or Church, unthinkable victories, breakthrough, lifting, restoration, deliverance, provision and protection become natural occurrences. The manifold weapon of mercy and grace is our highest need. Examples abound in the Bible of people that mercy and grace turned their night to noon. Joseph, Ruth, Esther, Mordecai etc. Mercy and grace cause people to win difficult and hopeless battles. Therefore, mercy and grace will keep you on top, irrespective of what may come your way this year and beyond. Happy new year of walking in His grace and mercy. You will never suffer disgrace, disaster and loss of any good thing.
LET US PRAY
1. Give thanks to God for all His wondrous and great things He did for us both individually and corporately last year. Once again, recall everything He did for your family and the church and give Him Praise.
2. Read Prov.16:6, Lord, by Your mercy and truth, let every iniquity in my life and family be purged.
3. Daniel 4:27, Father of all mercies, empower me to break off any sin in my life by practicing righteousness or doing what is right.
4. Prov.28,13 O Lord, grant me the heart of humility and grace to sincerely confess and forsake any sin in my life, so that I will obtain mercy.
5. Ps 139: 23-24 Search me, o God and know my heart. ‘Try me and know my thought and see if there be any grievous way in me and lead me in the way everlasting’ (Allow the Holy Spirit to see in your whole life).
6. O Lord, have mercy upon me and don’t give me what I deserve according to Your judgment withhold every punishment that I deserve this year in Jesus Name.
7. Heavenly Father, don’t allow my life and family to become destitute of Your mercy and grace this year and beyond.
8. Father, by Your mercy and grace; make my life and family glorious, strong, beautiful, magnetic, useful and fruitful this year and beyond.
9. Father, by Your mercy and grace; turn every night of my life and my family to noon, like You did it for Esther, Mordecai, Ruth and Joseph.
10. Father, by Your mercy and grace; cause my life and my family to achieve great and amazing things this year.
11. Father, by Your mercy and grace; cause me and my family to win great and difficult battles that may be against us in the name of Jesus.
12. O Lord, let us enjoy Your undeserved protection, promotion, and provision all round the year by Your mercy and grace.
13. O Lord, help me to enjoy Your mercy and grace every day of my life.
